Yemelyanova O. Speech Realization of Addressee's Status in the English Lovers' Discourse of Fiction

The thesis deals with the study of speech realization of addressee-lover's status in the contemporary English discourse of fiction. The thesis reveals the peculiarities of the dialogical discourse between lovers. In the course of the complex study the interconnection between the addressee-lover's socio-psychological roles and speech realization of the status is determined. The classification of verbal and non-verbal means of communication which reflect the fact of actualization of addressee-lover's communicative position in the aspect of speech realization of his/her status (parity, dominance or subordinance) is worked out. The specific features of speech realization of addressee-lover's status in the aspect of semantics of his/her responsive utterances (utterance of acceptance, utterance of nonacceptance, temporization) in accordance with the type of initial speech act are revealed. Application area: discourse analysis, communicative linguistics, pragmalinguistics, sociolinguistics, dialoguestudies.
