Rood V. Epidemiological and clinic-psychological characteristic of suicidal behavior in a general population of the Poltava region taking into account the heliogeophysical factors and biological rhythms.

In the dissertation epidemiological research of suicidal behaviour in a general population of the Poltava region for the period 1957-2004 has been carried out. The features of influence of circannual rhythms and heliogeophysical factors on frequency of suicides and suicidal attempts were investigated, the role of social-demographic and biological factors in formation and realization the suicidal tendencies has been reconsidered. On the basis of complex study of 123 patients which have committed suicidal attempt and have been stationed on inspection and treatment in psychiatric hospital, the clinic-psychopathological, psychological and biorhythmological features of suicidal behaviour had been established. The presence of desynchronization of physiological functions in patients, densities of biorhythmological types depending on the leading psychopathological syndrome, the degree of gravity of suicidal attempt, and psychological characteristics of the patients have been established. The criteria of suicidal risk and suicidal relapse, based on the developed and offered system of medical, rehabilitation and preventive measures for the persons with suicidal behaviour were found out.
