Zaika A. Surgical prophylaxis of postgastrectomic complications of gastric cancer patients.

The object is patients with the cancer of stomach. The objective is to develop the complex of the surgical measures aimed at the improvement of functional results and quality of life of patients with the cancer of stomach after gastrectomy. The methods are clinical examination, fibrogastroscopy, radiologic, radioisotopic, laboratorial, ultrasonic examinations, computer tomography, statistical processing of examination materials. The novelty is that the possibility of improvement of functional results of surgical treatment of patients with the cancer of stomach who were performed gastrectomy on, due to new method of postgastrectomy reconstruction, which foresees simultaneous application of cuff oesophageal-intestinal and longitudinal-transversal interintestinal anastomoses, is first proved; technical simplicity and high functional value of the developed method of reconstruction of gastrointestinal tract is proved; possibility of achievement of early medical, social and professional rehabilitation of patients with the cancer of stomach due to new method of prophylaxis of postgastrectomy complications is shown. The results are that the method of postgastrectomy reconstruction, which allowed improving functional results of surgical treatment of patients with the cancer of stomach and provided satisfactory quality of their life, is developed and applied in practice. The method was incorporated in practice of the Lugansk Regional Clinical Oncological Dispensary, Mariupol Inter-district Oncological Dispensary, Donetsk Regional Anticancer Center.
