Kalinkin V. Applying Specific Immunotherapy in Antirecurrence Treatment of Patients Suffering Polypous Rhinosinusitis Taking Its Course against the All-the-Year-Round Allergic Rhinitis Background

The Dissertation is dedicated to the substantiation and development of a new method of antirecurrence treatment of patients suffering polypous rhinosinusitis com-bined with all-the-year-round allergic rhinitis with application of specific immunother-apy by causal allergens, the sensitisation to which was revealed at the stage of examina-tion. Dynamic changes in clinical and laboratory indices in patients with this pathology were studied in the process of application of specific immunotherapy. The normalising influence of this method of treatment on the balance of aerobic and an-aerobic stages of biological oxidation in blood neutrophiles and nasal secretion, on the functional activity of T-lymphocytes and on the motor activity of the ciliated epithelium of the nasal cavity mucous membrane were determined, not resulting in any pathological change in the structures of the objects studied. Clinical, immunologic and cytochemical methods helped prove the high efficiency of complex application (in combination with topical corticosteroids) of specific immunotherapy in antirecurrence treatment of pa-tients suffering polypous rhinosinusitis in combination with all-the-year-round allergic rhinitis.
