Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the question of maintenance of accident-free movement of a high-speed train on the basis of continuous monitoring the technical condition of railway with application of methods of acoustic not-destroying control. Devices and systems of periodic control of the condition of rail way are less reliable and functional in comparison with systems of continuous monitoring the condition of railway and have a number of significant drawbacks, the main of which is the periodicity of the control that does not duly reveal obstacles to movement of a train and malfunctions of the railway. Thus, one of the ways of increasing the safety of high-speed rail transportation is continuous monitoring of the condition of railway. The presence of an obstacle to the movement of a train on the surface of rail results in change of conditions of distribution of acoustic waves in the rail. It is established, that with the help of Rayleigh waves one can most easily find objects made of metal on the surface of the rail. The developed way of control opens prospects of creation of a new class of devices for maintenance of accident-free movement of a high-speed train on the basis of continuous monitoring of rail way with the use of acoustic Rayleigh waves. Results of researches have found application to production of new models of diesel locomotives on Joint-Stock Company "Luganskteplovoz".
