Bondar H. The method of reinforcement of stone construction

The thesis deals with the method of local reinforcement of cracked stone constructions, which efficiency due to prestressing.The experimental investigations carried out for cracked brick elements that were locally reinforced with embedded glass- reinforced plastic and steel, showed the efficiency of method application and complete restorability of crack resistance, stress-strain behaviour and bearing capacity of the constructions.The thesis also suggests the developed design procedure for bearing capacity of the compressive elements that were locally reinforced both with glass- reinforced plastic and binding wire. SCAD-based numerical experiment proved suggested design data.The efficiency degree was found for the local reinforcement of brickwork having cracks across its three rows. The results of this work were introduced while reinforcing five objects in Kharkov and in two projects of building reinforcement.
