Essay

The work is aimed to improve effectiveness of medical care and treatment of newborns suffering intraventricular hemorrhages (IH), to determine risk factors and develop prediction methods for IH, to evaluate functional state of coagulant, anticoagulant and fibrinolytic systems of the mentioned group of newborns. New data on the state of platelet, coagulant, anticoagulant and fibrinolytic systems of newborns with IH was collected. Comprehensive interrelations between pregnancy, delivery, drug usage prior to delivery and particular stages of hemostasis were demonstrated. The interrelation between increased partly activated thromboplastin time during the first day of life and ele-vated levels of TNF-alfa and IL-1beta in umbilical blood serum, and also between high aggregation activity of hemostasis system and elevated level of TNF-alfa and IL-1beta in newborns with IH, was verified. The comprehensive methods used allowed to discover the most significant perinatal factors in the development of IH in newborns and to create algorithm for predicting the risk of such pathological condition.
