Essay

The aspects of postnatal growth of the harbour porpoise: regularities of body length and body weight growth, development of body proportions, growth of skeleton and its parts were studied. Age aspects of biology were reviewed. Body and skeleton size and growth were compared with those of populations in other world regions. Sexual dimorphism was studied. Dentine and bone were studied as registering structures; new criteria for age determination were proposed and existing ones were improved.
