Essay

Model galvanic couples (GC) on structural steels and copper-nickel alloys. Investigations of the electrochemical characteristics of the model GC corrosion effect, caused by a gradient of the corrosion active components of the environments, existence of the sulphate-reductive bacteria and preliminary hydrogenation and a development of some practical recommendations for corrosion and corrosion-mechanical fracture protection. The modern methods of electrochemical and corrosive-mechanical tests. For the first time the galvanic couples as follows have been investigated: concentration one on the iron ions, one on the copper-nickel alloys, biocorrosion one. Correlation for current and quantity of absorbed hydrogen for hydrogen GC has been established. Reactions of hydrogen and iron oxidation in hydrogen GC have been determined and evaluated. Practical recommendations have been worked out and implemented on diminishing of local corrosion of the condensing pipes for power plants, and also recommendations have been given on durability of steels under conditions of sea water and simultaneous influence of mechanical stress and biological factor. Trunk pipelines, energy industry, sea transport.
