Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of iron's metabolism and the state of antioxidant protection among patients with chronic gastritis. The processes of activation of peroxide oxidation of lipids become higher and there is the depression of antioxidant defence in those patients. The changes in the gastric mucosa depend on the diffusion of the inflammatory and destructive processes, gastritis' activity and of the iron's changes. There was grounded the inclusion of antioxidants to the treatment of chronic gastritis. Helicobacter pylori infection changes the metabolism of iron in human, because the levels of blood iron and feritin were lower among patients with Helicobacter pylori - associated chronic gastritis.
