Essay

The low frequency protonic conductivity was found to be in the TrMA-MeCl3 single crystals, where Me = Cu, Co, and DMACCC solid solution. This conductivity is realized by Grotthus mechanism, where the dynamics of the alkilammonium groups plays an important role. The specific manifestations of the spatial modulation were observed in the electron and vibrational spectra of the crystals. The peculiarities of the mani- festations of the thermal optical memory effect, thermochromism phenomena, protonic conductivity and irradiation changes have been investigated within the different phases of the ferroics with the different types of metal-halide and metal-hydrate complexes. The efficiency of complex applicability of the spectral optical methods to study of crystal structure changes near phase transitions, under the influence of irradiation and dependending on the growth conditions has been shown.
