Dissertation is devoted to research of fiction as a metagenre, and also fantastic as an artistic thought-flair. Fiction is examined under two points of view: as fiction-reception in unfiction texts on material of the Ukrainian romantic writers, modernists, surrealists, postmodernists; and as a fiction-concept with three sub-groups: actually fiction (works of М.Gohol, O.Somov, P.Kulish and other), science fiction (works of V.Vladko, O.Berdnyk, V.Savchenko, I.Rosokhvatsky, O.Teslenko) and fantasy (works of M. and S.Djachenko, Ph.Tcheshko, V.Arneyev and other).
