Essay

Single-grain geochemistry of zircon and monazite detrital populations that reflect provenance within the East-European Platform (EEP) and Antarctic Peninsula was investigated. "Total lead" method was used for single-grain age dating. Zircons' parent rocks were identified by means of Hf-Y criterion. Obtained data were resulted in the models of progressive growth of the Earth's crust. A new stage (~0.5-0.7 Ga) of monazite formation was discovered for EEP region. These results may be regarded as a contribution to modern information about crustal evolution.
