The thesis deals with the research of the peculiarities of the British governments policy on Irish problem during World War I. The author focuses on the Irish autonomy issues (home rule) and characterizes the position of the Irish Parliamentary Party (IPP) and government approaches to solution of the Irish problem. The author has proved that the total war dictated conditions under which the Irish issue solution became impossible.
