The object: Carl Sandburg's original poetry, their translations into the Ukrainian and Russian languages, publications of the American, Russian and Ukrainian literary critics on Carl Sandburg's poetry. The objective of the dissertation is reveal-ing the peculiarities of Ukrainian-Russian interlit-erary reception of Carl Sandburg's writings com-pared to the American reception. The practical value of the research lies in the possibility of using the obtained results in special courses on Recep-tional Poetics and Comparative Literary Studies, in general courses of Foreign Literature History. The methods: biographical and comparative his-torical, critical-comparative and translative meth-ods.
