The intercommunication between functional indexes of an eye and condition of antiendotoxin immunity, levels of general serum immunoglobulins, relative amount of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, bearing LPS-binding receptors, respiratory burst activity of polymorphonuclear leukocytes in patients with different forms of diabetic retinopathy has been analyzed in the presented thesis. It was determined that the application of enterosgel and retrobulbar injection of depo-medrol (methylprednisolone) increased and stabilized visual functions and immunological indexes in patients with diabetic retinopathy.
