Paterilo I. Law as a value category.

The dissertation is a complex work in which value nature of law is investigated as a component of socio-cultural system which acts both within the social organism in general and in the form of selfsufficient and selfgenerating legal system. In particular, the peculiarities of gnosiological nature of value of law, specific features of formal and socio-cultural (meaningful) values of law, value relationships between law and fundamental values - freedom, equality and justice - are researched in this thesis. The dissertation also characterizes general social value of law, determines its value significance in civil society and in contemporary Ukrainian society, the development of which confirms the necessity of perfection of law as vitally important value.
