The thesis deals with the issues of increasing the effectiveness of treating junior infants suffering from community-acquired pneumonia with complications by means of studying the peculiarities of changing the parameters of peripheral blood forming elements,protein metabolism,system of ferments,acid-basic balance,some parameters of immunity and concentration of the tumor necrosis factor аnd of its soluble receptors with the aim of selecting pathogenetically grounded methods of non-specific detoxication and their differential employment in complex treatment.It has been shown that on the basis of the reactions of adaptation on the part of junior infants' leukogram it is possible to determine the adequacy of the treatment performed,its influence on the adaptative reactions, which to a great degree influences the course of the illness.
