Kushnir P. History of peacekeeping activities in the Middle East in 1945-2000.

The dissertation is devoted to research of peacekeeping activity history in the Middle East during the period of 1945-2000 a complex study of peacekeeping activity initiating reasons and tenden-cies of its development in the Middle East has been performed in the dissertation work for the first time ever. The study embraces the period since the creation of UN and the attempts to manage the first crises in Lebanon and Syria in 1945 up to the beginning of the sec-ond Intifade in Palestine. The periodical classification of peacekeeping process history in the region has also been offered in the study. In his scientific work the author classified the subjects of peacekeeping initiatives in the Middle East according to their degree of influence upon conflict(international and regional participants of peacekeeping process). Moreover, the specific links be-tween the initiators of peacekeeping activities and conflict participants have been investigated. While analyzing individual Middle-Eastern conflicts, theevaluation of conflict resolution methods having been used is being made.
