Essay

The thesis is dedicated to investigation of exchanging and hydrodynamic processes taking place in a blast furnace. The analytical solution of a problem of heating thermally thin bodies in a moving layer under linear boundary conditions taking into account heat losses through furnace's lining, is given. Relationships for determining hydrodynamic parameters taking into account their dependence on gas, viscosity, porosity of a charge and a real blast furnace's profile are presented. Also dependences for determining critical parameters of a blast are developed. An engineering method for calculating the process of melting of skull's layer was developed. Carried out calculations show applicability of this method when mathematically modeling any metallurgical furnace where a skull may take place. Dependences for calculating a convection and overall heat transfer coefficient are elaborated.
