The state of the thiol-disulfid system of lens, aqueous humor and blood serum in patients with a senile cataract and experimental animals with different models of cataract is explored by the method of reverse amperometric titration with the purpose of increase of efficacy of conservative treatment of senile cataract. It is established that gamma-irradiation in a total dose 0,5 Gy causes the change in the thiol-disulfid system of blood serum and lens which promote development of experimental aminotriazol cataract. In patients with presence of the Ag+-sensitive free nonprotein sulfhydril groups in the blood serum a senile cataract progresses quickly. A new method of conservative treatment of senile cataract by combination of the "Quinax" and "Carsil" is more effectively diminishes speed of cataract progress, than the monotherapy by "Quinax", in clinical and experimental terms. Sphere of use is the medicine, ophthalmology.
