Telichko T. Poetics of Another in the English Novel (the beginning of the XX-th century).

The object is E.M.Forster's and H.Walpole's novels. The aim is to find out the peculiarities of creation of Another in the English novel at the beginning of the XX-th century. The methods are comparative-historical, hermeneutics, system and typological analysis. The dissertation deals with poetics of Another in the English literature. It outlines the evolution of the reception of alien/ different/ other in the literature from Antiquity to the beginning of the XX-th century, when the urgency of dialogue was comprehended. The correlation between the "other" category and the national identity is exposed on the material of the English literature, when Englishness is reflected in the mirror of reception.
