Essay

The dissertation focuses on the investigation of problems of the development of England politics in the reference to the Ottoman Porte at the period of Elisabeth I Tudor reign and in the rule of Yakov I. The operations of Levant Company as the result of English politics in the reference to the Porte are also taken into consideration. The first consideration in the dissertation is put to the circumstances of the first appearing of English people in the Mediterranean; to their attempt to organize the independent trade with Levant's countries. The merchants of England involving in the wideness of trade markets, especially weaving ones, founded two main trade companies in the 80th of XVI century - The Turkish and Venetian companies. The final registration of English - Turkish trade relation took place in accord with the forming of Levant Company in 1592.The successful trade of English merchants was accompanied by arrangement of steady political relations between England and the Ottoman Porte. The main accents in the dissertation are put to the first English ambassador relations with the Ottoman Porte. The underlined idea is involving the Ottoman Porte in the war against Spain, and its unsuccessfulness due to the weak resolution of the Ottoman Porte, accompanied by its inner structural crisis. The dissertation illustrates the reasons and results of the change of English politics in the reference to the Ottoman Porte in the reign of Yakov I. Reorientation of England in foreign politics, reconciliation with Spain and appearing the strong rival in the evidence of the East - Indian Company provoked the loss of interest form the English side to the Ottoman Porte.
