Essay

Epidemiologic studies of 912 children aged 12-15 have shown a different prevalence of periodontal tissue disease depending on fluorine content of drinking water. 98% of children with some changes in periodontal tissue were diagnosed as having a chronic catarrhal gingivitis with deterioration of oral hygiene state, biochemical indexes of saliva and worse spectrocolometric indexes of periodontal tissue mucous membrane. The changes are mostly developed in children under the condition of high fluorine content of water supply resources. Cure-preventive complexes have been elaborated and introduced into action which was estimated during different observation time periods (1, 6 months and 1 year later after the first prescription). The effectiveness of treatment is proved by the improvement of oral hygiene state, normalization of prooxidant and antioxidant system and mineral imbalance. All the factors had a positive influence on children's periodontal tissue state. According to the PMA index a reduction amongchildren from Poltava was 73,89%, from Karlivka - 65,85%, Kremenchug - 80,49%.
