Verbal poetic image as linguo-cognitive structure. The aim is to reveal and differentiate the concept of verbal poetic image. The methods are: analytical, descriptive, deductive, quantitative. The problem of verbal poetic image as a linguo-cognitive phenomenon was worked out based on modern American poetry. The linguistic status of the verbal poetic image was disclosed from a new point of view of cognitive linguistics. The obtained results can be used in the course of lectures and seminars in theoretical grammar and stylistics of modern English, in the practice of teaching English. The sphere of usage - higher school.
