Essay

Object - senile cataract. Purpose - to increase the efficiency of operative treatment in patients with senile cataract. Methods - general ophthalmologic, estimation of light scattering of the eye optic media, spectrophotometry, biomicroscopy, tonometry; slit lamp, strylightmeter, spectrophotometer SPH-10, centrifuge. For the first time the decrease of antioxidant enzymes activity is revealed in the inflamed operative tissue and correlation between enzymatic antioxidant status of patients with senile cataract and degree of post-operative inflammatory reaction is revealed too. The new method of objective estimation of inflammatory reaction is offered and the method of inflammation degree decrease in post-operative period by instillation of preparation "Lipoflavon" is developed. The results of the work are adopted at the Filatov Institute and Sevastopol city hospital № 1. The sphere of the use - ophthalmology.
