Mohamed S. Nonspecific bronchial reactivity against a background of drug therapy of children with bronchial asthma

A study of the indices of hyperresponsiveness of the respiratory tracts, atopy and character of the inflammatory process in the postattack period and the state of remission in patients with bronchial asthma has demonstrated their specific characteristics in patients with a divers degree of disease severity: on the basis of the diagnostic value and risk indices of the results of bronchial challenge tests with histamine (PC20H) and exercise challenge test with further salbutamol inhalations have been evaluated for the purpose of verifying mild and severe persisting asthma. А mathematical model of a severe persisting course of bronchial asthma has been developed and a way of its detecting has been proposed in order to optimize the treatment of these patients. The results of a complex observation have been used for the purpose of substantiating individualized remedial-preventive measures in patients at the time of remission and during an attack, whereas their efficacy has been evaluated on the basis of adecrease of absolute and relative risks, taking into account a need number of patients that should be treated in order to achieve a positive outcome.
