Hymenyuk T. Western Ukrainian lands in 1939-1941: historiographic analysis.

In the thesis the main periods, tendencies and characteristic features of the development of historiography in the history of Western Ukrainian lands in 1939-1941 have been identified, the formation of the methodological principles under the influence of ideological and political conceptions of the society have been highlighted. The evolution of domestic historical thought in different periods of the development of the society have been analysed, especially in the Soviet totalitarian regime and in independent Ukraine, the approaches to the investigation of the history of Western Ukrainian lands in the first period of World War II in the works of historians of the USSR, Ukraine, Poland, Russia and other countries have been compared; the historical conceptions and schemes in the investigation of Western Ukrainian lands' joining to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic - Soviet Union and their sovietization in the system of totalitarian regime have been studied.
