Essay

The criminal-legal and criminological characteristics of the murder of a new-born child by his mother are considered in the dissertation. A legal analysis of the crime has been carried out according to article 117 of the Criminal law of Ukraine. The theoretical conclusions as well as the improvement recommendations have been made. The rate, structure, dynamics data of murder of a new-born child are studied. The major determinants are established and the personal characteristics of women-criminals are given. A wide range of measures preventing the murder of a child by his mother is suggested on the social, specific criminological and individual levels.
