Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the investigating of water properties according to quasi-elastic incoherent neutron scattering data. On the its basis the typical parameters of molecules’ thermal motion – the full self-diffusion coefficient, its collective contribution, the residence time and transition time from one temporary equilibrium position to other. The applicability region of quasi-cristallic representation is determined. On the basis of computer modeling mean square displacement data the value and temperature dependence of Debye-Waller factor are estimated. The new self-diffusion mechanism in water is proposed. According to this mechanism the displacement of water molecule takes place even in the presence of two H-bonds. The electrolyte ions’ influence on character of thermal motion of water molecules is investigated.
