The object is memoiral and biographical works of Ukrainian writers of the end of the XX century. The objective of the dissertation is to determinate the specific of memoiral and biographical prose, and the correlation of personality and documen-tary in works-recollections and in works-biographies. The practical value of the research relies in the possibility to use the obtained results for the courses: theory of literature, special courses and special seminars. The methods: methodology of literary germeneutik, receptional aesthetics, biographical, comparative-typological, historical-genetical.
