The object of the investigation the works of Russian literature historians of the end of XIX- beginning XX cent, literature-critical researches and issues of K.Balmont, V.Bryusov.Z.Gippius, D.Merezhkovskiy, V.Rozanov, M.Voloshina "Green snake" and also translations of Goethe's works, made by Balmont, Bryusov,Merezkovskiy. The aim of the dissertation is to uncover the pecu-liarity of Goethe's reception in Russian literature at the end of XIX - beginning XX cent. The practi-cal role: Reached results may be used in repairing of researches in Russian-German relations, and also in teaching historic-literal courses, in prepar-ing special courses and special seminars, de-voted to perception of Goethe in Russian litera-ture.
