Essay

The object is the scattering of radiowaves by hydrometeors and inhomogeneous surfaces. The goal is the development and introduction of methods for data processing in coherent radars for remote sensing. Methods are the methods of mathematical statistics, digital signal processing, and experimental research. New approaches have been proposed for independent estimation of the concentration and effective diameter of rain and cloud droplets. Novel methods have been developed for estimating the antenna beam orientation angles and the aircraft acceleration for a synthetic aperture radar. The filters for speckle noise removal have been improved. The methods have been introduced in the radars. The application area is radar remote sensing.
