Novak Y. Modern state and prospects of development of firearms criminalistic research.

The thesis deals with theoretical and practical issue of firearms criminalistic research. The concept of "criminalistic ballistics" and its place in the system of "Criminalistic science of arms" has been substantiated. Modern types of firearms have been investigated. Firearms classification is proposed. The peculiarities of examining the place of incident with use of firearms are highlighted. The necessity of firearms expert examination for determining the circumstances of the criminal immediately in the process of examining the place of incident has been proved. Modern methodologies of examining firearms, their ammunition and signs of their use have been analyzed. The necessity of "examination" of modern methodologies in order to determine their efficiency and elaboration has been substantiated. Up-to-date possibilities and problematic questions of firearms complex expert examinations have been discovered. Theoretical and practical results of the research are demonstrated. Recommendations concerning the using of firearms criminalistic researches in greater diapason during the process of criminal investigation and prosecution have been developed.
