The presented thesis covers the following questions: increase of effectiveness in cases of treatment and prevention of iron deficiency states in teenage girls of Luhansk region; defining the peculiarities of physical, sexual development at different stages in iron deficiency states; investigation of diseases which triggered iron deficiency states or served as a background which complicated the clinical course of iron deficiency states; study of hemopoiesis and ferrokinetics in teenage girls with iron deficiency states; establishment of ferrotherapeutic influence on copper level. Prognostic criteria of iron deficiency anemia development in teenage girls were devised for the first time. The study of effectiveness of different ferrotherapy regimens showed that ferrous iron medications are very efficacious at the stage of hemopoietic normalization, whereas hydroxide polimaltose complex of ferric iron saturate tissues significantly faster. These findings formed the base for creating the method of 'graded' ferrotherapy, using ferrous iron at the 1st stage (hemopoietic normalization) and subsequent transition to supportive treatment with half doses of hydroxide polimaltose complex of ferric iron at the 2nd stage (saturation of tissues). The method of 'intermittent' ferrotherapy was devised for primary and secondary prevention of iron deficiency in teenage girls. The research registered influence of ferrotherapy on copper level reduction in teenage girls, which demands defining the level of copper and correcting it with copper-enriched vitamin and mineral complexes is the circumstances so require.
