Essay

The object is the phonological and morphological systems of Egyptian Arabic (EA); the aim is systematization of phonological regularities and morphological and morphonological features of nominal and verbal word formation system of EA in synchrony; the methods are descriptive, comparison, taxonomy, linguistic statistical, supervision; the new approach lies in complex analysis of the phonological and morphological systems of EA, finding out and systematization of its common regularities with Modern Standard Arabic and ways in which their phonology and morphology differ; the results are the detailed classifications of consonantal and vocalic phonemes inventory of EA including their allophones, affixes and triliteral and quadriliteral unaugmented and augmented verbal patterns, systematization of morphonological adjustments; the results are being introduced during the Arabic Dialectology course teaching.
