Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the variety and jazz music in the context of the creative work and performance of the national and foreign accordionists-bayanists. For the first time in the Ukrainian study of art, this phenomenon became the subject of research in the aspect of the complex analysis of evolutionary process. The sources of the origin and distribution of the variety and jazz music in the national cultural environment are revealed; the questions concerning the problem of the style directions of its development are discussed. The following scientific categories: professional development, philharmonic specialization, and academization are suggested and grounded. These categories define the evolution of the qualitative factors characterizing the development of the accordion, bayan performance in Ukraine within the three mentioned stages. Progressive achievements of key Ukrainian and foreign musicians reflect the general tendency towards the increase in creative potential, the enrichmentof the arsenal of the music-intonation and artistic-theatrical ways of art influence. They are also evidence of the perfect nature of variety-jazz music functioning in modern accordion-bayan performance
