The object of study – problems of preservation and direction of an effective utilization of castle complexes of Khmelnitskiy region. The purpose of study – in view of historical-cultural value and modern condition of castle complexes of Khmelnitskiy region an effective way of their preservation and uses to develop. The methods used in the research are: problem-chronological; supervision, comparison, periodization, logic sequence, historical-comparative; abstractive, analysis and synthesis, modeling; idealization, hypothesis and assumption, system approach. The practical value of work consists in use of the received results in lecture courses of museum studies, history of fortification construction, protection of monuments, preparation of the guidebooks and booklets as on a history of castles of Khmelnitskiy region as a whole, and on separate monuments. The materials of the dissertation can be used during development of the projects of museum status of castles of Khmelnitskiy region, excursions, drawingup of the circuits of tourist routes with involving of castle complexes in tourist networks of Ukraine. Dissertation is devoted to the study of the present condition of safety and usage castle complexes XII–XVIIth centuries, that were saved on territory of the Khmelnitskiy region. For the objects of fortification legacy of the Khmelnitskiy region, the level of safety of which is very low, the best way to preserve will be museum status as creation of terms for the excursion visits, that would aid castle complexes to transformed into touring facilities. Development of new excursion and tourist routes, which would overcome all castle complexes, will enable preservation of tumbledown objects, will be included into Ukrainian touring network, remote castle-museums will become popular.
