The thesis deals with the quantitative research concerning the frequency of usage of different syntactic structures and their length in publicistic texts and various genres of the fiction style; in the types as well as compositional and speech forms of the text have been analysed in the dissertation. The dissertation dwells on the analysis of similarities and differences of individual author's style, the in-fluence of extralinguistic, text, supertext and subtext factors on the distribution of the sentence types and their length.
