Essay

The concept and bent of union searches of Lviv and Peremys eparchy bishops arc investigated in the dissertation. The basic factors of local, universal social and political, socio-religious character that determined the status and prospect of religious expansion from the side of foreign clerical and political power are presented in the paper. Two-direction modus of the perception of the union ideas in orthodox surrounding of Rich Pospolyta is applied. U is mostly noticeable in the direction of the bishops Gedeon Balaban and Mykhailo Kopystcnskij, first union inspirers, later on - irreconcilable opponents of church connection. The concept of union actions in Lviv and Peremys eparchy is interpreted; the reasons, forms and methods of eparchy realization about a union with Roman church in terms of political and religious expansion are elucidated from the sides of Rich Pospolyta and Russian Empire, the segment in the turn of 18lh century were orthodox western Ukrainian eparchies.
