Essay

The subject of investigation is the gas discharge sustained by surface waves. The aim of investigations is the building of nonlocal kinetic theory of plasma sustained by the field of high frequency electromagnetic surface wave at the low pressures, when the role of collisions in definition of plasma energy balance is negligble. The mechanisms of plasma heating due to collisionless interaction of electrons with high frequency field are defined and comparative analyzes of them is carried out. With help of qualitative analyzes the importance of nonlocal and nonequilibrium effects at the discharge description is shown.
