The dissertation paper is devoted to the rate setting’s improvement of diesel fuel depletion by yard locomotives owing to the calculation of diesel locomotives’ necessary tangent work for rehandling the set amount of vehicles, diesel engine work, and establishing on its base the norm of diesel fuel depletion. In dissertation paper the technical-economical indexes of the yard locomotive, the parameters of yard locomotives system of technical maintenance and the ranges of their change are specified. The mathematical models of starting time and tangent work for operating and empty half-route, on the basis of key points’ method, the determination of the hourly depletion of diesel fuel depending on diesel engine work are built for the first time. The method of determination of work on overcoming losses on servo is offered. The order of establishment the rate of diesel fuel’es application and the software, which automatizes the given process, are developed. The benefit is expected.
