The work covers urgent issues of oncology, i.e. improvement of chemotherapy efficacy in women with breast and genital cancer using accompanying therapy. The character, frequency and severity of complications at the standard chemotherapy for breast and genital cancer as well as the role of alginate administration in prevention of the above complications were investigated. Some mechanisms of alginate preventive effect at standard courses of chemotherapy for breast and genital cancer were studied. For the first time, efficacy of alginates as a means reducing the frequency and degree of chemotherapy toxicity in cancer patients manifesting by leukopenia and anemia reduction, decrease in the frequency of nausea and vomiting, cardiovascular complications during chemotherapy and possibility to accomplish it in all patients without reduction of the doses of chemotherapy drugs, which promotes improvement of chemotherapy efficacy and quality of life, was proven. For the first time, quantitative assessment of chemotherapy harmful effects as to GCP (Good Clinical Practice) requirements according to CTC v.3 system was introduced into clinical practice.
