Kava L. Main pests of the strawberry under the condition of Central Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine and their control measures.

The object - pests of strawberry and ways of defense from them. The purpose - specification of strawberry pests' species, investigation of bioecological peculiarities of development of the main species, elaboration of effective measures of strawberry protection. The methods - observation, laboratory and field experiments, statistical, dispersional, regressive-correlational analyses of received results. The novelty - 1) the most fully defined the species composition of phytophages in strawberry's planting in Central Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine (39 types of insects, 2 types of ticks, 2 types of hook-worms, 1 type of centipede); 2) specified the biology of strawberry blossom weevil and strawberry mite; 3) investigated the resistance of 59 sorts of strawberry to the damage by strawberry mite and strawberry blossom weevil, singled out three groups of sorts according to the degree of damage by mite. 4) established connection between greenness of different sorts of strawberry and thickness of cuticle and cells of lower and upper epidermis of the leaf; 5) the biological preparations Bitoksibacilin and Phytoverm, 0,2 % c.e. against the strawberry blossom weevil are tested in laboratory conditions; 6) investigated the influence of some agrotechnical methods of strawberry planting on the change of quantity of strawberry blossom weevil and strawberry mite, established the effectiveness of some organizational- economical, agrotechnical and chemical techniques against the main strawberry's pests, defined the best term of their conducting. The results of investigation - on the basis of the investigated results offered techniques of quantity regulation of strawberry blossom weevil and strawberry mite, which allow optimizing the protection system against these pests. Terms of conducting of protection techniques were defined. Investigation results of resistance of strawberry pests to strawberry mite can be used in selection for creating the new resistant and improvement of the existed sorts. The branch - agriculture
