The research object is the technological process of functioning of a ploughshare and a cultivating seed drill roller for a sowing area.The purpose of the paper is raising the functioning of a ploughshare and a cultivating seed drill roller for a sowing area by means of the improvement and substantiation their constructive-technical characteristics. Research methods. The methods of theoretical mechanics and applied mathematics are used for the research of functioning of a ploughshare; the methods of theoretical mechanics, theory of elasticity, mathematical analysis and analytical modeling are used for the research of functioning of a cultivating seed drill roller.The scientific novelty - the influence patterns of geometric characteristics of a ploughshare cheeks elements on the fulfillment of the process of throwing away soil have been established and their rational importance has been proved. The reaction of soil elements during their movement on the surface of a curved line moldboard has been investigated and the influence of sizes of its main technological characteristics on the distance of soil elements movement towards a furrow has been shown. The connection between geometric characteristics of a transverse section of a cultivating seed drill roller and the character of stress and deformation field distribution in soil according to the activity of a roller has been revealed.The research results are accepted to introduction at OJSC "Red Star", Kirovograd.
