Essay

Object: androgen status and insulin resistance in men with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Purpose of research: to investigate peculiarities of the relationship between the androgen supply of organism, testosterone (Т) reception and unsensitiveness to insulin in men with type 2 diabetes mellitus and also to argument long-term administration of insulin sensitizers for the correction of the exposed changes. Methods of research and the equipment: clinical, biochemical, radioimmunological, instrumental, mathematical, statistical; meter of radio-activity MARK-III. Theoretical and practical results: the pathogenetic role of decline of sensitiveness to insulin and his concentration in blood in violation of the androgen supply of organism of men on the different stages of development of diabetes mellitus type 2 was established on base of research of age-dependent indexes of balance of Т and IR. We recommended to conduct the analysis of androgen status to aim of more differentiate estimation of peculiarities of somatic and metabolic changes at the examination of men with type 2 diabetes mellitus and also purposeful application of complex pharmacotherapy and determinations of its effectiveness. Novelty: for the first time the indexes of sensitiveness of organism to insulin are compared with general testosterone, free testosterone index, sex hormone-binding globulin in healthy men and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus depending on age, and also study peculiarities of androgen reception in men with type 2 diabetes mellitus depending on sensitiveness to insulin. Degree of introduction: the results of these investigations were introduced into medical practice of doctors - endocrinologists and offered to use for the lead through of educational process.
