Essay

The thesis is dedicated to improve the process of rolled flax material drying by active aeration through research and considering the structural features as well as physical and mechanical properties of roll layers. A flax straw layer model was improved, enabling to change thickness and bulk porosity within the layer in the roll. The analytical relations are derived for defining airflow speed changes depending on roll layer height, establishing the drying agent initial speed value and its consumption. Experimental research to determine structural, physical and mechanical roll layer parameters is conducted. Methods of rolled flax material drying by reversing air connection along with oscillatory (heating-cooling) temperature modes are suggested as well as drying machine design. Production tests established economic appropriateness, technical and economic efficiency of the drying machine.
