Essay

The object is wavelike dynamic processes in the ionosphere and on the sea surface. The goal is further development and validation of radio methods for remote sounding of wavelike processes in the Earth’s atmosphere and on the ocean surface. Methods are theoretical and experimental methods of radiophysic research. A bistatic technique has been developed for remote radio sounding of the rough sea surface with ground-based transmitters of opportunity The frequency-and-angular sounding method for diagnosis of traveling ionospheric disturbances in the model of a perfectly reflecting rough surface has been extended to the case of vertical sounding. Long-term observations of traveling ionospheric disturbances over the Antarctic Peninsula have been performed with the use of a specially developed data-taking/ processing complex. Basic parameters of the detected disturbances have been estimated and sources of their generation are discussed. The application area is global system global system diagnostic of wavelike processes on the sea surface and in the Earth ionosphere.
