Essay

As the result of observation of 1987 sufferers of Chernobyl NPP accident, divided on different groups, 559 patients of control group, and 41021 blood donors, it was established that the frequency of anti-HCV antibodies detection in group of clean-up workers (22.59 %), reconvalescents of acute radiation sickness (27.19 %), evacuues (25.96 %), NPP workers (25.28 %) was higher than in group of donors (3.45 %) and patients of control group (8.92 %). Among HCV genotypes the unfavorable 1b genotype was predominant (86.93 %). For persons, suffered due to Chornobyl catastrophe, high level of seroconversion (7.21 %) and correlation HCV-seropositivity with previously carried out hemotransfusions were found. In the group of HCV-positive clean-up workers some diseases (chronic hepatitis, chronic gastritis, thyroid diseases, chronic inflammatory processes, thrombocytemia, acute heart attacks in anamnesis) were revealed more frequently in comparison with HCV-negative clean-up workers. The algorithm of observation of patients in hospital and outpatient departments of RCRM was proposed for reduction of risk of HCV transmission and decreasing influence of HCV on development of negative remote medical consequences of irradiation.
