Essay

Isothermal sections of the R2X3 - Cu2X - ZX2 (R - Y, Pr, Ho; Z - Si, Ge; X - S, Se), Sm2S3 - Cu2S - SiS2 and Er2S3 - Cu2S - GeS2 systems have been constructed at 870 K. The crystal structures of 49 ternary and quaternary compounds of the investigated and related systems have been established by X-ray single crystal and powder diffraction. 16 of the investigated compounds are new. The comparison of the quasibinary R2X3 - Cu2X, R2X3 - ZX2 (R - Y, Pr, Sm, Ho, Er; Z - Si, Ge; X - S, Se) and investigated quasiternary systems has been discussed. The characteristic of particular qualities of structure types Cu2GeSe3, Ce6Si4S17, Dy3Ge1,25S7 and La3CuSiS7 has been carried out.
